Weekend Assignment – What Are You Afraid Of?
Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves – regret of the past and fear of the future” ~ Fulton Oursler
In honor of Halloween let’s talk about FEAR. I’ve hosted two radio shows on the topic and we will be revisting the fear factor on the show in December with Lance Eckum who writes Jungle of Life. Fear runs amok in our society. We get a daily dose from the news media, from governments and politicians, from religion, and from well meaning people who care about us. We have real fears and comfortable fears. And we also make up a lot of our own fears with the simple statement, “What If.”
Fear of failure must never be a reason not to try something” ~ Fredrick Smith
Your homework this weekend is to make a list of all your fears. From tigers, lions and bears (oh my!) to starting that new business, setting boundaries, speaking up for yourself, finding your voice, taking that first step…make your list and let’s get to work on overcoming your fear factor!
When’s the last time you invested in yourself?
When’s the last time you did something to become a better you?
I’m in the business of helping you change your life. To not just survive but to THRIVE.
Can you imagine your life without the fear, uncertainty and doubt?

Peggy–
I thought hard about this the last time you talked about fear. What am I afraid of? I went through various fears I have, and they all boil down to:
Being afraid of making the wrong decision.
Monday nights are the free-est night of the week for me, so I’m sure I’ll catch the show in December.
Dear Jessica,
I understand that fear. But what I learned is that perfectionism is the biggest con. It keeps people from not starting or worse: quitting.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” ~ W.H. Murray
