Things I’ve Learned Part II
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my life is that no one is going to take better care of me than me. Not my husband, not parents (they’re responsibility for taking care of me ended when I became a legal adult), not my children, not the people I work with, not my friends, and while my fabulous dog would like to take care of me, he doesn’t have opposable thumbs.
A little over a month ago I tipped Mr. Scale at 169lbs. That’s 9 pounds more than I weighed when I gave birth to my daughters in 1984 and 1987 respectively. I’m no longer in my 20′s. I no longer have the kind of metabolism that burns like an inferno. In fact, I think my metabolism is more like an ice box. What hasn’t changed is that I’m still 5’3″ and 169 lbs makes me look like a jelly roll.
A little over a month ago I could barely squeeze my ass into my size 12 jeans. My size 12 skirts pinched my sides and I felt like I was suffocating. I couldn’t see my waist. And I don’t even want to talk about my derriere. Oy!
Bless his heart, but my dear husband suggested that I may have a thyroid or hormonal problem. Uh. No. Last year I had a physical and my doctor said all my numbers were perfect. The only difference between my visit with my doctor last year and this year is that I gained 10 gawd awful pounds.
A little over a month ago I started paying attention to my friend Renia. We’re dojo friends, not close, but we see each other in class every now and them. Except I hadn’t seen her in class forĀ awhile. But I saw this on Facebook:
I wondered what she was doing but not enough to ask. and then I saw this:
I wanted what she was having. I checked out her website. I signed her guest book. I placed an order. And three days after I received my Body By Vi order I signed up as a distributor. No, I did not lose weight in three days. But I suddenly had all my energy back. I felt incredible. Just from drinking a shake in the morning.
This is me on Day One of my 90 Day Challenge
This is me after my first 30 days
I said good-bye to size 12. My size 10′s fit comfortably with room to spare. I’m on track to see size 8 very soon. It’s not about the weight or the jean size. It’s about my health first. In particular, my waist size. If you’ve seen Dr. Oz’s video on Weight Loss, you know what I’m talking about. I have a few more inches off my waist to lose. According to the chart in the video, I’m almost there (and I won’t be stopping there…I’d like to see 26″!)
Watch my short video if you want to learn more. I hope you’ll join the Challenge with me. We can cheer each other on and finally get control of our health, our weight, and feel better about ourselves. And when we feel good about who we are, those around us benefit just as much as we do when we take better care of ourselves.
Check out my part time business page at http://pegnolan.myvi.net and sign my guest book. We can schedule a time to talk via skype or phone. I can’t wait to help you achieve your health and wellness goals!
