Technical SNAFU and Other Tidbits
Congratulations to Jessica Withers, winner of last night’s giveaway! What did she win? I’m glad you asked! She won an autographed copy of Wednesday Martin’s book, “Stepmonster!” (See what happens when you tune in live?! You just might win something!!)
Last night’s show with Wednesday Martin and Mary Kelly-Williams ROCKED! I can’t wait to have them on again. And next time, I suddenly won’t go mute…why and how it happened, I have NO idea…I didn’t press any buttons, I didn’t move my cell phone, I didn’t point and click the mouse…once I figured out they couldn’t hear me, I frantically typed in the Live Chat “can anyone hear me?” Needless to say, the show didn’t wrap the way it needed to, so if you listen in, the show just stops abruptly <sigh> Gotta love technology!
Next week’s show is going to be an adventure! My friend Wilma Ham and I are on a mission to end martyrdom once and for all. Hopefully, we’ll be able to convince you that being a martyr isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Most martyrs in history ended up dying slow, torturous deaths. In stepmotherhood, stepmoms deplete themselves…slowly…and torturously. We’d like to help end that particular practice.
Make sure you tune in Monday, April 26, 2010 at 8:00 PM EST! As always, the show will be available for download immediately following our broadcast and Erin and I will hang out in the StepChicks forum for fifteen minutes after the show…
In other news
My co-host, Erin Erickson is walking in her local Relay for Life! Help support Erin – every dollar counts towards ridding the world of the cancer plague.
Special prayers to Cafesmom Heather Hechtler – she and her hubby have been trapped in Switzerland, unable to return home due to the volcanic ash. She misses ALL her kids terribly!
And…today I was a guest on Beth Wilson’s Radio Show for Enlisted Spouses, Navy Homefront Talk. Yup, that’s right. Not only am I a stepmom, but I’m a military spouse, too. Beth and I had a nice chat about Self-Care (do you think I’d talk about something else?) and making time for YOU.
Speaking of you, what have you done for you today?

HI Peggy, you keep on talking about Self-Care as you are a shining example of what Self-Care can do for women’s life, it makes it rock.
.
I could not listen to the show last night as we were running around doing all the paperwork for the sale of our house, but I sure will listen to it via your link today. I have no intention of missing all the good stuff and your abrupt silence
I too look forward to our show together to end all women’s martyrdom practices.
