Stylin’…
I’ll be the first to say I’m not fashion obsessed, but I still want to look good. When I look good, I feel good. From my skin care products to cosmetics to the clothes on my back and the shoes on my feet – I want to look and feel good. I want bcbg. I want bon chic, bon genre or good style, good attitude.
Last Christmas I gave myself a gift. I hired Susan Kanoff, The Fashion Coach. Susan is also a stepmom but she’s got more fashion sense in her right hand than I do my whole body. I tried on every stitch of clothing I owned. Not much was left in my closet or my drawers. Susan completely overhauled my bcbg! Solid color tanks, asymetrical necklines, skinny jeans (really? me?) skirts and dresses just above the knee. Earth tones complimented with dark yellow, melon, and deep purple.
She gave me a shopping list and off I went. I spent hours doing something I hate to do – trying on clothes. I tried on everything. Not one piece was purchased without me deciding if it looked right or fit right.
My good style, good attitude didn’t stop with just my clothes. I also went after bcbgshoes! Cool funky shoes, flats, platform shoes are my favorites. In the winter, I’m a sucker for a good pair of boots. Shoes always fit, regardless of whether I just ate an ice cream sundae or had a blow out argument with one of my children or step children. Retail therapy (within reason) can do a mind and spirit good!
Isn’t it time you got your own bcbg?
Have fun!!
