Would you like to learn how to take care of yourself without feeling selfish or guilty?
So often I hear from my clients that they feel either selfish or guilty or both for taking five minutes to themselves. Some of my clients don’t even know what self-care is or allow themselves to even think about it. While stress is normal, chronic stress is not. In fact, chronic stress is linked to the six leading causes of death. I’ve experienced the first hand result of chronic stress when I was diagnosed, at the age of 40, with breast cancer in 2004. I’ve learned to live entirely different without making others feel less cared for, less loved, or less important.
Self-Care 101 will teach you the basics so you can live a healthy, happier, and less stressed life
In a recent TODAYMoms.com survey, 75% of women surveyed say that the pressure they put on themselves to be perfect is worse than the pressure they feel from other women. Now that’s a lot of STRESS! We’re going to dive into the following:
Seven Simple Self-Care Strategies To Help You Go From Frazzled to Fabulous
- Eat a healthy 350-400 calorie breakfast every morning.
- Get your beauty sleep.
- Be Confident in who you are.
- Take 5 minute silence breaks.
- Practice deep belly breathing.
- Become grounded.
- Release your expectations.
Self-Care is as necessary as oxygen. You can’t help anyone if you aren’t taking care of you first.
Self-Care sounds so easy but for most women it’s the hardest thing to do. Why? Most women devalue and de-prioritize their own needs for the needs of others…and that’s not healthy for you or for any of your relationships. Once upon at time, I was that woman. I was you. And I paid a hefty price for it.

As a nine year breast cancer survivor Peggy knows a thing or two about the critical importance of self-care and personal growth. She is a certified yoga teacher and she holds a 2nd degree black belt in Muay Thai Kickboxing. At the young age of 49, Peggy decided to take on the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Why? Because if she isn’t learning and growing, she’s shriveling and dying.
Peggy has a deep caring for stepmoms. She knows first hand how challenging the role is. Her main focus is to help women in the stepmom role thrive, become leaders in their families, and become happy, whole human beings.
A life long learner, Peggy also takes personal development workshops, attends seminars, and reads. She also makes good use of her car time – if you look inside her center console, you’ll find audio CD’s by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Napoleon Hill, James Allen, Jack Canfield, and others.
Peggy lives in Derry, NH with her husband, Richard, and Edgar the Wonder Dog. Peggy and Richard love traveling, photography, running road races, playing with their grandchildren, and watching reruns of Star Trek.
