Eight Ways to De-Stress in Thirty Minutes
2009 December 23
The holidays are stressful enough without being remarried with kids! From last minute schedule changes, unexpected guests, and Uncle Harry drinking too much egg nog – it’s enough to drive a stepmom a bit bonkers. Here are eight things you can do in thirty minutes that will bring you peace and poise of mind!
- Take a walk
- Shovel snow (if there’s snow to shovel!)
- Meditate
- Take a hot, luxurious bubble bath
- Curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book
- Meet a girlfriend for coffee (or a martini!)
- Exercise – get moving and increase your feel good endorphins
- Laugh – watch Jeff Dunham, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Peanut, Bubba J, and Walter – you’ll laugh til you cry and get a good ab workout, too.
Be sure to check out some other really great tips on Wednesday Martin’s blog!
Remember, stressed spelled backwards is Desserts! Merry Christmas!

Thanks for your hopeful comments. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm dessert – its 8:51 am here. Not too early for dessert, right?
Thanks for these tips Peggy. I definitely won’t be shoveling, as I’m pretty sure I’ve lost the use of my arms after shoveling the great blizzard of 09 out of my driveway! But, the other tips are a surefire hit!
Happy, happy holidays to your gorgeous family!

EWO – it’s never to early for dessert
You are so welcome Sharon!

My stomach is hurting from laughing. I think Jeff Dunham is hilarious and Peanut is my favorite. Thank you for sharing that.
Desserts! Yes, I will thankyouverymuch. As for snow, HIGHLY doubtful
It never snows here.
I love Jeff – saw him last year for my birthday…never laughed so hard in my life…and Guitar Guy – also funny, it an unsuspecting low-key kind of way!
Some good tips here, I like the bath one best but I’d like to add in playing on the Wii. Great de-stresser for the whole family.
