Step Mom, Mom, and Auntie-to-be Throw Baby Shower.  Step Mom was a little nervous, hosting the party at her dad’s house, but Sharon’s Sangria helped take the edge off…

My youngest step daughter is pregnant and carrying my husband’s, her mom’s and my first grandchild.  Our family dynamic confuses most people who don’t realize that the step mom and the mom can and do get a long.  Just fine, I might add.

The shower was held at my dad and step mom’s home.  We needed a place large enough for 30-40 people.  One that wouldn’t cost us anything.  Dad has a gorgeous home, with a lot of space.  My sister helped me with all the decorations and my cousin made a beautiful cake for this event.  My oldest step daughter coordinated the guest list and the menu.  

With all the guests inside my dad’s home, I couldn’t help but notice and feel all the love that abounds in my family.  Which is now expanding with the addition of my son-in-law’s family.

…and that’s only half!  After all the gifts were opened, it looked like we had raided the local Babies R Us…

 

  

 

 

Three families were present at this baby shower.  My family, my husband’s ex-wife’s family (which I also consider my family), and my son-in-law’s family.  Not to mention my step daughter’s girlfriends.  My dad’s house was overflowing with love.

My first grand-daughter is truly blessed.
